There are 3 new changes in the G3 seats.

1. There is a new EZ-Buckle system which makes placing and removing of a child easier and faster by keeping the buckle in a forward position.  So is it worth it to spend money on these extra features? That’s a trick question! Britax did not raise the prices of the seats despite these new features, so it doesn’t need to be a decision that you grapple with.
2. There is a 2 point top tether and webbing system that anchors the top of the car seat to the car, thereby slowing the tipping of the seat forward in a crash, which reduces crash forces.
3. Britax has a patented HUGS system with SafeCell Technology. They have used this in the chest pads. These attach to the shell of the back of the seat through the harness slots and under the harness straps. This system is removable to get a better fit for infants or for cleaning. The SafeCells are designed to compress in a collision which helps absorb energy and create resistance if a child lurches forward.

Many of the car seats manufactured today do not have the level of testing performed to ensure that they know how to provide this level of protection but this Britax Marathon 70 G3 car seat   have. (as explained by raising small souls.com )
